The dawn of the hotel
The Hotel Orto de’ Medici is situated on the historic grounds where the Medici School of Art and Sculpture once thrived. The nineteenth-century building was once home to the Socci Family, whose coat of arms proudly adorns the entrance. The Socci family adorned the building with magnificent frescoes, now meticulously restored, and crafted the captivating terrace.
Preservation and restoration
In the mid-twentieth century, the Bufalini family acquired the building and transformed it into a distinguished hotel. Thanks to a careful restoration led by the Melucci & Nardini architectural firm, the Orto de’ Medici now stands as a distinctive fusion of Florentine history and contemporary design.
